Welcome to the 2nd Annual DFW Rec World Series

About the Rec World Series:

The Rec World Series is an event hosted to give rec teams an opportunity to play together post season against other teams within the area that are on the same level. The tournament is a double bracket structure offering a better play experience for all levels of rec. The tournament is not intended to be an All Star tournament, however, this season we will offer an advanced rec division to give the more competitive teams the opportunity to play at their level while maintaining the level of play for the rec teams.

Dates:

June 13 – Kick off at Dr. Pepper Ball Park

June 14-16 – Pool Play

June 17 – Single elimination Bracket play

Fees:

Registration: $400 (Due by June 9th, 2018)  – Will accept checks or cash

Gate Fee: $100  (Due by June 14th, 2018)  – Will accept checks or cash

Divisions & Age Groups

Teams will be grouped by even numbered ages: 6U, 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U (60/90 field only)

Rec Division: For true A level rec teams that have been playing as a part of a rec league association.

Advanced Rec Division: ‘

The advanced rec division is meant for the following category of teams

  • Teams put together specifically for the Rec World Series tournament – (Merged teams)
  • All Star Teams – players that have been playing rec and were the best players in their division
  • Premier / Advanced Rec teams – Some associations offer a rec division and a higher level rec division this category is for teams that were playing in the Premier/ Advanced Rec division
  • AA teams associated with a baseball association or lower level independent AA teams (no AAA teams / no club teams)

Roster Verification

Rec Division

All teams registering for the “A” Rec Division will go through a roster check.  You must use the same roster that was active during the Spring 2018 season. with a limit of only 2 guest players. Guest players must be registered with the same rec league association. (No select players allowed to guest play)   

  • Rosters must be verified before securing your spot in the tournament.
  • Rosters are due by June 1, 2018 (Email to select@tcyba.net)
  • The roster that you turn in will be checked and verified by your league association board. 
  • Upon check in, coaches will be required to sign the roster form acknowledging that their roster is correct. (Players may be subjected to a birth certificate check to verify age)
  • Also upon check in, parent/guardian of the player will sign “player form” acknowledging that their child was an active player on your Spring 2018 Rec team
  • If during the tournament it is discovered that a coach has illegally added a player or has a player who was not an active member of his/her Spring 2018 Rec team, the team will be disqualified immediately and no refund will be provided

Higher Level Rec Division

  • The roster that you turn in will be checked and verified through USSSA and other league/tournament resources
  • Upon check in, coaches will be required to  sign the roster form acknowledging that their roster is correct (Players may be subjected to a birth certificate check to verify age)
  • If during the tournament it is discovered that a coach has illegally added a player or has a player who participated in AAA or higher, that team will be disqualified and no refund will be provided.

Insurance

All teams must provide a copy of insurance. (Can be provided by your local association)

Frisco RoughRiders:  

We are excited to partner with the Frisco RoughRiders this year!  Each player will receive a free ticket for the RoughRiders game on June 13th.

All players in attendance will participate in player parade on the field.

1 player will be chosen to throw the ceremonial first pitch.

18 players will be randomly selected to stand with the Riders’ defense during the National Anthem.

Parents and coaches may purchase additional tickets to attend the game with their child. Tickers will sell for $1 or $20(to include all you can eat hot dogs, chips, and drinks)

All RWS teams will be announced on the jumbo-board during the game!
